M.O.P. (June 15)
Another great show at the Shrine. This time MOP. I clearly knew their hit song "Ante up" which has a fantastic Sesame Street mashup on Youtube. MOP was high energy and played to a crowd that was FULL of MOP fans and people wanting to have fun. It was a high energy show of two veterans. Like Real MC's, they did it for the crowd and showed thanks for the fans that came out to see them.
*** If you share the pics, credit the photographer (@KbevPhoto on Twitter and iG). The gear isn't free, and neither is my time editing... Show love. I'd appreciate it. If you performed and want a link to the whole night, let me know. These are my favorites, but I shot a few hundred and have a lot of everyone on stage.
As ALWAYS at the Shrine you pay for the headliner, and they always bless you with some great openers. This time, my "MC Surprise of the Night" was Mood Swangz and Nightwalker. The flow and the beats were great. Nightwalker had hint of B Real in his flow, and was tight all around. Mood Swangz did several songs and made me want to find that album online.
This was the 2nd time I saw DirtyMF on the mic. Again he holds it down and constantly demonstrates a flow, voice, and demeanor that it stunningly like Method Man. He was joined by the Unnamed sound guy who was tight as hell. Then the DJ that played great beats between sets all night, That's Broadway, spit a few bars. These three need to find a way to do a longer set.
It was nice to reconnect with Phee and NoTryDo.Sincere. I hadn't seen them in a while and it is always great to see them continue building the craft and setting an example for the wannabes. DJ Handz Solo did a demo set that was tight too.
AM Early Morning came on and did a set before MOP that was also high energy. Check him out on soundcloud.
Lastly, I am including a few videos at the end of this gallery for kicks.
