MC Lyte & Amina Panel (Oct 18)
11 years ago, at the Ebony Black Family Reunion Tour, I shot one of my first hip-hop shows. Doug E. Fresh and MC Lyte were two of the performers. Honestly, I got a cool photo of DEF, but looking back, I was just not that good. The photos are actually pretty bad.
On 5 hours notice, a talented singer, friend and businesswoman, Kenya, called me to see if I could shoot at event in my 'hood featuring MC Lyte. Anxious to right the wrong from 2007, I jumped at the chance. I admit, i thought she was performing, but it didn't matter. Lyte is still dope, still looks great, and is wiser than most MC's in the game. It was great to hear her speak and I'm glad I got a chance to get some great photos.
Amina and FM Supreme also performed and had a lot of support from the crowd. Amina was a fun, insightful panelist, and FM Supreme moderated a great discussion.
Kudos to Creating Crimson for a fantastic night. Can't wait for the next one.
