KRS-One (Nov 15)
I had another chance to see my favorite MC on stage at the Shrine. He didn't disappoint. He was the typical KRS - tight lyrics, command of the stage, engaged the crowd, showed respect for the MC's that deserve it, and so on... His 15 minute lecture at the end of the show was well done. The new MC's could learn a thing or two.
In addition to performing many classics, he performed some new tracks. I'm looking forward to hearing how they are received by his fans. The lyrics were great. The beats were a bit more plodding than usual, but at a live show, you can't really tell.
Here are some of my favorites for the show. You can find pix from a previous show in the Hip-Hop-MC's section of the site.
No openers on stage last night. I didn't hear his DJ's name either.
