Heartz & Mindz (Feb 14)
Roldare Nation through another jam, but this time they made history. This was a fundraiser for the American Heart Association to support a cause close to Ms. Rachel Byerley. It was the first time the AHA had partnered with the Hip-Hop community for an event. Roldare brought us all together for a great night.
In the end, Self-X beat the Freak Show in the final crew battle. NSidDS won the all-styles with an awesome display.
Why go to a Roldare Nation jam? First, he puts on amazing Exhibition battles. Chikis vs. Finisher was like watching a power trick heavyweight fight. Waka vs. Fantum was two veterans showing that they can still bring it when they want to. The most gasp-generating battle of the night was Raw Skeleton (Freak Show) vs. Isaiah. These two both put plastic man to shame and AMS put it best at the end: "What just happened? That was disgusting!" No lie. Roldare also takes the time to give the next generation a little love too. The "Never been kissed" battle was a chance for those who had never won a battle to claim a title. In the end, BBoy Shawn showed out and took the crown.
Anytime the Freak Show is at a jam, you can count on a few things: Raw Skel will make you wince. Freakzoid will do some technical transitions that will make you wish you were watching on TiVo. Lil' Sin and the rest of the crew will have a routine. Lastly, they come to win. If they don't, you'll know it. I repeat, if they are at a jam, you need to be there.
