After a long day of shooting, I saw a group of a few hundred people on the beach - so I figured I'd go check it out.

Turns out the Venice Beach Drum party was going on. Tons of people, tons of drums/ percussion instruments, a good amount of beer, and plenty of "medicine" made for a good time on the beach as the sun set. The crowd danced, played, smoked etc for a long time. The highlight was when a chopper flew overhead and provided some light. A bit later, some cars drove up and their headlights made it easier to shoot, so I was pretty happy. Turns out, it was the cops - party over.

However, it moved to the sidewalk for the "after-party". Everyone was cool, and the shooting continued until the cops broke it up (actually, they actually tried a few times before we all left)...
