After a bunch of trips to SFO, I finally brought my camera with me. I shot just about every night between 10pm-1am (and one afternoon). I spent the whole time in Hallidie Plaza and the Powell St. subway station. I got to know a lot of the guys that I shot, and even got a few people to "pose" for me. I listed some info about them in the captions. All of them, without exception, were really nice people to meet. I also added a few photos of the "Bushman" at the end of the gallery.
A mural in Hallidie Plaza at the Powell Street Station. Notice the rat running across the botton in the drainage channel. (Mural by the Meridian Gallery)
In the "bush" on the left, "The Bushman" waits for a victim
This is the man behind the disguise. Compared to the Wikipedia listing's photo, this guy is an imposter. He was still funny as heck as he shouted insults to those he scared and those taking pictures. To couples: "Hey sir, I bet you ain't never made her scream like that!" To a girl with a camera: "Hey! Put some money in bucket! If I took a picture of your bush, I'd at least give you a couple of dollars!"... and so on...

They were good sports about it

Screaming out loud because of the Bushman
The girl with the backpack was the funniest I saw that day, she jumped so far to the left... (next photo)
... she flattened her friend that wasn't paying attention (on the ground). The best part was that she didn't even stop to help her up!
