KBev  > Travel > US Travel > Las Vegas (Oct 06)
I October I went to Las Vegas for a meeting. I went a day early and spent the day looking for something interesting to shoot. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Why? Because nobody does anything interesting outside during the day and at night they're smart enough to do it inside - where cameras don't follow. Anyway, here's what I did shoot - with some commentary.

I started with a few obligatory shots - the Bellagio fountain was an obvious start.
Who knew Toni Braxton was in Vegas? I gotta get out more. She was at the Flamingo. To cut down billboard costs, they just painted on the entire front of the hotel!
The coolest thing I saw was a guy painting in front of a crowd. He was using spray paint in a way I had never seen. Note that this painting is a reflection of New York City in the eye of Spider Man. It's tough to see, you'll have to trust me.
He started with a blank sheet and two cans of white paint.
For this painting, a Black and White, he followed with a coat of gray.
After adding some black, he used tissue paper to remove the black from the bottom.
They he literally scraped off the black to form white shapes. In this case, the shapes were trees.
After spraying a little pool of white paint, he blotched leaves on the tree trunks he previously scraped out.
The pool became "the sun" and he used peper and another can to make the "starbursts" from the sun.
